COVID-19
Dear patients
Given the developing crisis, and mindful of the deffering actions of our continental neighbours, I thought it would be sensible to keep our patients up to date with both current government advice regarding dentistry and measures we are taking above and beyond what is recommended.
Clearly, this is a dymanic situation and advice can change from day to day.
Current Government Advice
The latest advice is that the basis for us to decide if we can treat someone is the same as for self isolation. i.e if someone has a new, continuous cough and/or a tempreture of 37.8 degress or higher, then they should not visit the dentist and self isolate at home. There is currently no advice to change or limit any treatment that we do.
WCODE Procedures
As we have always have done, our cleaning and sterilisation protocols are following and exceeding the HTM 01-05 compliance document.
Further to this stringent protocol, that in general relates to cleaning in the surgery, we have also now introduced further measures.
e.g:
- All staff/patientsare required to use hand sanitizer when entering and leaving the practice.
- All door handles, waiting room surfaces, seats etc are cleaned with alcohol wipes at least hourly.
- Card pin pads are wiped after every use.
- Unfortunately all magazines/ leaflets etc are removed from the waiting room.
- There is some evidence that a peroxide based mouthwash can reduce the viral load in the mouth. Hence for now all patients will be asked to rinse with Peroxl mouthwash for 1 minute before any treatment.
We hope we can continue to serve your dental needs through this difficult time and if you have any concerns please feel free to contact us.
Thank you
Jeremy Hill and all the team
